Numerical and experimental investigation of rocking stability of rigid blocks during single sine-wave excitation

چکیده

Rocking stability of a rigid prismatic block standing on base subject to simple harmonic acceleration function is still an important dynamics problem, in which energy loss often not treated accurately enough. The at impacts during rocking here examined. for various slendernesses and sizes assessed numerically, where improved coefficient capable estimating the size effect considered. A number relevant cases are validated experimentally, with specially designed set well-controlled documented benchmark tests shaking table system.
